Me
I’m Julia, a 16 year old kid from Iceland.
Height: 178 cm.
Current weight: 71-72 kg
Goal weight: 67 kg
ABOUT ME:
I am a very active person, and since it’s really easy for me to get bored I have a lot of hobbies. I work out, play video games, draw, play the piano, read, watch YouTube, write and derp around on the interwebz.
My favourite ways to work out are running, athletics, snowboarding, climbing, kayak-ing(?), hiking, pilates, yoga and other stuff that involve moving my body.
I’m incredibly antisocial. I know my best friends through the internet and am usually pretty awkward in real life. Although, if I like you, I will never stop talking.
MY STORY WITH RUNNING/WEIGHT LOSS:
Summer 2010 I went to America for three weeks. I didn’t really exercise and I ate A LOT, since Ben and Jerry’s is pretty inexpensive. I gained. I fell out of shape. When I came home, I started feeling miserable. August 2010 I started doing gymnastics again, like I had been for the last 6 years.
I started running in April 2011. I had quit gymnastics in February 2011, and realised that going to the gym, alone and unmotivated, wasn’t the best thing for me. So, I started running.
I ran for a few months, along with climbing mountains with my dad. We have always loved mountaineering and something we do frequently. I started loosing weight, and at the end of August, I ran 10 kilometres, my goal at the time.
I kept on running and started doing Boot Camp for a few months. Then, I discovered athletics. I loved it, looked forward to going to practice. Today, athletics is my life.
In January 2012 I discovered I had gluten intolerance, which meant I had to stop eating sugar, yeast and wheat, except for spelt flour. I started loosing weight like crazy.
All in all, I’ve lost about 20 kg in fat over the last few years and gained 10 kg of muscle. Today, I could not be prouder of myself.
